Connect TikTok Ads

Connect TikTok Ads to Pace and pace your advertiser accounts alongside Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Microsoft Ads. Approve on TikTok, then link.

Connect TikTok Ads to Pace and your TikTok advertiser accounts pace in the same workspace as your Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Microsoft Ads.

Once connected, TikTok gets everything Pace does for the other platforms: automated budget pacing, campaign groups, overspend protection, creative reporting, Sparks, Dot, and client reports. Connecting and pacing TikTok Ads are available on every plan, with no separate add-on.

What you'll need

  • Membership of a Pace workspace. Any member can start the connection.
  • Admin or operator access on TikTok to every advertiser account you want Pace to manage. Owning the Business Center on its own isn't enough.
  • A few minutes.

Warning: Your advertiser list locks the moment you approve. On TikTok's consent screen, tick every advertiser you want Pace to manage. Adding more later means reconnecting from scratch.

Check your TikTok access first

The consent screen only lists advertisers you hold a direct admin or operator role on — Business Center ownership alone won't surface them. So before you start, sign in to TikTok with an account that holds that role on every advertiser you want Pace to manage, and they'll all appear the first time.

Connect TikTok Ads in Pace

  1. Open Linked Accounts and select the TikTok Ads tab.
  2. Select Connect TikTok Ads. Pace sends you to TikTok's own sign-in and consent screen.
  3. Sign in, then tick every advertiser you want Pace to manage. You have to select at least one.
  4. Approve. Pace brings you back to Linked Accounts with a TikTok Ads connected confirmation.
  5. Open the Unlinked tab, tick the advertisers you want to manage, and select Link.

Connecting and linking are two separate steps. Approving on TikTok imports nothing on its own, so nothing is paced until you link the advertisers you want.

How you'll know it worked

The TikTok card shows a green Connected badge, a pill with your email (marked with a small person icon, no label), and a Since date. The advertisers you chose move to the Linked tab, and a trust note reads "Secured with OAuth 2.0. Your credentials are encrypted and tokens rotate automatically." Other members see a "Connected by" line naming whoever set up the connection.

How Pace paces TikTok

Once TikTok is connected, Pace paces it at full parity with Meta Ads: month-to-date spend, days remaining, per-campaign targets, safety guardrails, and a manual Pace Now button.

Pace handles all three TikTok campaign structures:

  • Campaign-budget (CBO) campaigns. Pace manages the single campaign-level budget and leaves your individual ad groups alone.
  • Ad-group-budget (ABO) campaigns. By default, Pace paces the whole campaign and spreads its total budget evenly across the ad groups inside it. Any uneven per-ad-group splits get levelled out unless you opt in below.
  • Smart+ campaigns. Pace paces these too, through TikTok's dedicated Smart+ endpoints. Smart+ CBO is set at the campaign level, and Smart+ ABO is spread evenly across its ad groups.

To pace each ad group directly instead of the whole campaign, turn on Manage ad group budgets (ABO campaigns) under Account Settings → General on a TikTok account. It's an opt-in setting on the Pro plan and above, and it only changes regular ABO campaigns — CBO and Smart+ campaigns keep pacing exactly as described above.

For the full picture of how pacing behaves per platform, read how budget pacing works across platforms.

TikTok's delivery system spends aggressively toward whatever daily cap you give it, which is also why Pace only moves TikTok budgets in small steps once an account is up and running rather than jumping straight to a new figure — a big single-day change resets the platform's own delivery learning just as it does elsewhere. TikTok Ads budget pacing: how to keep spend on target in 2026 covers the manual version of the same discipline.

Common TikTok connection problems

  • "Tick at least one TikTok advertiser to connect." You approved without selecting an advertiser. Reconnect and tick at least one.
  • An advertiser is missing from the list. The account you signed in with doesn't hold a direct admin or operator role on it. Fix the access in TikTok, then reconnect.
  • Someone else connected it. Only the member who connected TikTok can re-authenticate or reconnect it, from the menu on the card (which holds Re-authenticate and Disconnect). To take it over, ask them to disconnect first, then connect TikTok yourself to become the connected member. For the full lifecycle, see managing permissions and re-authentication.

How your TikTok credentials are kept safe

The connection uses OAuth 2.0, so you never type your TikTok password into Pace. The access key TikTok hands back is encrypted at rest in your workspace's own credential store, never sent to your browser, never placed in a web address, and never written to Pace's logs. The access key refreshes automatically, and Pace makes every TikTok request on your behalf. Disconnect at any time from the menu; that revokes the access key and unlinks your TikTok advertisers, and you can reconnect later.
