Daily Spend Floor is a pacing mode that holds a guaranteed daily minimum on an ad account, instead of landing a fixed monthly total. You choose it as Daily Floor under the Pacing Mode control in Account Settings, on the Budget tab — the alternative to Monthly Budget. It fits accounts that commit to a daily number rather than a monthly pot: insurance, legal, and other lead-gen advertisers whose budget gets topped up mid-month.
Why use it
- Hold a floor you've promised a client every day of the week — schedules that would otherwise pause spend on quiet days never override it.
- Let spend climb above the floor when the account beats its efficiency target, and ease it back toward the floor when results soften.
- Cap the downside with the hard daily cap, so one bad signal can never send spend soaring.
How it works
You set four numbers on the Budget tab:
- Daily spend floor — the required daily minimum. Pace holds it every day: the budgets it sets always add up to at least the floor.
- Target spend — the cruising level, a little above the floor. Leave it blank and Pace uses the floor plus 15%.
- Soft ceiling — a tripwire, not a cap. Crossing it triggers an alert and never restricts spend.
- Hard daily cap — the maximum on the budgets Pace sets, suggested at around four times the floor.
Give the account goal an efficiency target — a Target CPA ($) or a Target ROAS (×). On days the account beats that target, Pace lifts total spend above your target-spend level. When results weaken, it eases spend back toward the floor, never below it. Without an efficiency target, Pace cruises at your target spend and doesn't push above it.
Pace glides budgets rather than lurching them. Each budget moves by at most around 20% per check, and those moves compound across the day's scheduled checks, so spend climbs to a new level over several checks rather than in one jump. Big jumps reset the ad platform's delivery learning and cost you results, so this glide limit is fixed and built in. The floor is never delayed: if the glided total would land below it, Pace restores it in one move.
Note: Daily Floor pacing is available on Pro plans and above.
When to choose Daily Floor
Choose Daily Floor when a client or account commits to a guaranteed daily minimum, or when "hold at least $X a day, more when it's working" fits the mandate better than a fixed monthly pot — see how to decide between the two models if you're weighing it account by account. Stay on Monthly Budget when you have a fixed monthly total to land on, or when you need campaign groups, which work in Monthly Budget mode only. For how the floor sits inside Pace's full set of spend controls, read how budgets and pacing fit together.
Limitations
- Daily Floor works on Google Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads. LinkedIn Ads and Microsoft Ads aren't supported yet, and per-platform mechanics differ slightly. See budget pacing across platforms.
- Campaign groups aren't available in floor mode. The floor is account-level — one daily number across the whole account — so there's no monthly account budget for a group to take its share from.
- The floor and hard cap govern the budgets Pace sets, not delivered spend. Platforms can deliver a little over a daily budget, and auction limits or ad disapprovals can leave delivery short.
Floor alerts
Floor accounts get their own alerts: a heads-up when spend crosses the soft ceiling, and a shortfall warning when yesterday's delivery falls below the floor. Set them up in setting up alerts.
