Use Dot full page and the prompt library

Open Dot on its own full page, keep your chats in a history rail, and run ready-made prompts with blanks for the account, dates or amount, or save your own.

Click the Maximize icon in Dot's header to open the same conversation on a full page, then use Prompts beside the message box to start from a ready-made question instead of a blank box. Both are included on the One plan and above.

Open Dot full page

Maximize opens /dot. Your current chat comes with you, along with the account it is about and any message you hadn't sent yet. Your past chats are listed down the left, grouped as Today, Previous 7 days and Older. Search them at the top, or delete one you no longer need.

Click Shrink to panel (top right, or Cmd+I) to go back to the panel on the page you came from. Nothing is lost in either direction.

A few things to know:

  • Opening /dot directly always starts a new chat. A saved chat has its own address, so you can bookmark it.
  • The chip at the top of the message box shows which account the chat is about. Click its ✕ to stop asking about that account.
  • Want more room? Hide the chat list with the button at the top of it, and bring it back from the top left of the chat.
  • Cmd+Shift+N starts a new chat, and Cmd+I shrinks back to the panel.
  • On a plan below One, /dot shows the Help home instead.

Start from a prompt

Click Prompts beside the message box, in the panel or on the full page. The library has three tabs:

TabWhat's in it
PaceTwelve prompts written by Pace
TeamPrompts anyone in your workspace has shared
MinePrompts you saved for yourself

Prompts are grouped as Pacing, Research, Audits, Budgets and Reporting. Search across all of them, or type / in an empty message box to search without leaving the keyboard.

Pick a prompt. If it has blanks, a short form asks for them, and Run with Dot stays off until the required ones are filled in. A blank can be:

  • An account, or a campaign from that account's live list
  • A date range: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month or Last month
  • An amount, a number, some text, or a choice from a short list

An optional blank you leave empty reads to Dot as "not specified". Dot's reply is labelled with the prompt it came from.

Save your own prompt

Hover a message you sent and choose Save as prompt. Give it a title, pick a category, and choose Only me or Everyone in this workspace. To add a blank, click Add a blank, then name it and choose its type.

Team prompts can be edited and deleted by the person who saved them and by workspace owners and admins. Editing keeps a prompt where it was saved. To move one between Only me and Everyone, save it again.

What a prompt can change

A prompt only starts a normal Dot message, so it has the same limits as typing the request yourself. Research prompts, like the keyword gap finder, recommend and change nothing. A prompt that proposes a change, such as setting a pacing target, shows the usual Approve / Cancel card, and only when the workspace owner has switched on AI writes. Read make bulk changes with Claude or Dot for how those cards work.
