You can edit any setting on an existing Google Ads campaign directly from the Pace campaign table. Small changes happen inline; bigger settings open a focused panel.
Permissions required: Owner or admin role on the workspace.
Inline edits
Click a value in the table to edit it in place.
- Click the budget cell on a campaign row to change the daily budget.
- Click the status badge to switch a campaign between Active and Paused.
- Click a keyword's match-type chip in the Keywords table to switch between Broad, Phrase and Exact.
Inline changes save automatically and sync to Google Ads in the background.
Open the edit panel
Hover any campaign row, click the gear icon on the right and choose Edit. The campaign settings dialog opens with a left-rail nav covering the campaign name and schedule, bidding strategy, Pace rules, location and language targeting, conversion goals, audience signals, keywords, negative keywords, device bid modifiers, ad schedule, network settings, sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets and URL options. Search campaigns see every section; other campaign types see the ones Google Ads allows on them.
Each section saves on its own and the dialog stays open, so you can move through several in one sitting. ⌘S or Ctrl+S saves the section you're viewing.
Put a campaign on a shared bid strategy
The Bidding strategy section asks first where the strategy lives: on this campaign alone, or on a shared portfolio strategy the account already has. Pick a shared strategy and a picker lists what the account can use, each named with its type and target, including strategies shared down from a manager account. Strategies your team hasn't created in Google Ads yet won't appear.
Moving a campaign back onto its own strategy works the same way. Set a target before you save, or Pace blocks the move. Both directions land in your Changes tab, and the entry names the strategy.
Two Google-only columns in the table's column manager show the result: Bid Strategy and Bid Strategy Status, which tells you whether a strategy is enabled, still learning, or limited by budget. Tick By bid strategy under Grouping in the Filter menu to roll campaigns up by strategy, with portfolio strategies kept separate from standard ones.
Set Pace rules for a campaign
The Pace rules section holds a Minimum daily budget and a Maximum daily budget for the campaign, and every pacing run honours both. Either field can be set on its own, and clearing both removes the campaign's rules.
Note: Campaign pacing is a Pro feature. For how the limits interact with the account floor and your monthly budget, read per-campaign budget limits.
Adjust bids by location
The Locations section shows a Targeted locations table with a Bid adjustment column. Type a signed percentage from −90% up to +900% to scale bids for people in that location. +20% bids 1.2× your base bid, −50% cuts it in half. Leave it empty for no adjustment, or use the small × to reset one location.
Edit keywords
Open Keywords and pick an ad group from the dropdown at the top. Each row shows the keyword, its match type and its status.
- Click the match-type chip to switch between Broad, Phrase and Exact. Pace handles the swap on save.
- Toggle a keyword between active and paused, or remove it. Removed keywords stay in the list with a Re-add button.
- Paste a list into the box below to add keywords in bulk.
"quotes"become phrase match,[brackets]become exact match, and bare terms take the default you pick.
Google Ads doesn't allow editing the text of a keyword that's already running. To reword one, remove it and add the replacement in the same section. Match type is the exception, and that's editable in place.
The Negative keywords section works the same way. When you paste, Pace checks every line first and tells you what it skipped and why — over Google's length or word limits, reserved characters, an unmatched bracket or quote, or a duplicate. Everything valid still goes through.
Archive an ad
Hover an ad row in the Ads table and a gear appears next to its status badge, with Archive inside it. Pace names both the ad and the campaign it's in before you confirm, because Google Ads won't let an archived ad come back. The archive lands in your Changes tab like every other edit.
