Spend Trajectory
What Your Pacing Means
Actionable next steps based on where your spend stands.
Underspending?
Your campaigns aren't spending fast enough to hit your monthly target. Check if budgets are set too low, if targeting is too narrow, or if bids need increasing. Incremental increases of 15-20% per day can help catch up without triggering learning phases.
Overspending?
You're burning through budget faster than planned. Reduce daily budgets, pause low-performing campaigns, or tighten targeting. Consider setting platform-level budget caps to prevent further overshoot while you optimise.
On Track?
Great — your spend is landing where it should. Focus on performance: shift budget from high-CPA campaigns to your best performers. Pacing well doesn't mean performance is optimal. Check back regularly as spend patterns change week to week.
Frequently Asked Questions
The daily spend target divides your remaining budget by the number of active days left in the month. If you have $7,000 remaining with 14 active days left, your daily target is $500. When "Exclude Weekends" is enabled, only weekdays count as active days.
When "Exclude Weekends" is enabled, Saturday and Sunday are removed from the pacing calculation. This is useful for B2B campaigns or accounts that pause spending on weekends. The calculator only counts weekdays when determining your ideal daily spend and projected totals.
The projection uses your average daily spend and extends it linearly through the remaining days. It's most accurate mid-month when there's enough data. Early in the month, a single high or low spending day can skew the projection. Pace's automated pacing goes further — sizing against the ad platform's account-wide month-to-date spend so ABO ad sets and manually-paced campaigns are accounted for, supporting per-campaign-group budgets, and using hour-and-minute granularity in the account's timezone with weekday/weekend schedules respected.
Yes. Click "Add Campaign" to enter budgets and spend for individual campaigns. The calculator aggregates all campaigns and shows your total pacing status. You can add as many campaigns as needed.
Green (0-4% variance) means you're on track. Yellow (4-10%) means slightly off pace. Orange (10-15%) means off pace — adjust soon. Red (over 15%) means significantly off pace and needs immediate attention. These thresholds match the real pacing alerts used by Pace's automated platform.
